FAS Aligners – An Excellent Aligner System for Multidisciplinary Treatments – with a Special Aspect to TMD-Patients
Today we see more and more adult patients in our offices, and for this reason we are more „forced“ to collaborate with other specialists in multidisciplinary treatments. The number of adult patients grows at the same rate as the demand for aligner treatments.
FAS aligners were developped with the aim of taking into account something more than aesthetics. In the adult patient we know that there are other problems (periodontal, joint, functional, endodontic, etc.) to take into account in our planning. With our system we can carry out the planning of our movements taking into account the arc of closure of the patient (stable condylar position). In the same way, it allows us to take into see the biological limits thanks to the segmentation of the roots as well as the possibility of superimposing the intra-oral scans with CBCT images, among other numerous advantages that will be presented.
In our presentation we will place a lot of emphasis on the diagnosis as well as we will present different clinical cases where we will show treatment with aligners in patients with temporomandibular dysfunction, as well as the use of aligners together with corticotomies or skeletal anchorage to achieve our objectives in the most complicated cases.
